Canyon REO provides one-stop, stress-free shuttle options for Grand Canyon Colorado River rafters who need to transport crews, gear, boats, food packs, and/or personal vehicles to and from the river. We can accommodate almost any shuttle need.
We go to great lengths to meet you and your group on time and at your preferred location to ensure a happy end to your trip. Our drivers are responsible and experienced. Canyon REO has a no smoking policy in any client or company vehicle and will perform a basic check (tires, fluids, belts) on your vehicle before driving.
Canyon REO has dealt with many complicated logistics over the years. Many factors go into shuttle pricing and we love solving logistical puzzles. We are happy to discuss various options to help your group determine the best shuttle for you.
Group & Equipment Shuttles
Canyon REO’s group shuttle service transports your group and all your equipment from Flagstaff to the put-in and from the take-out back to Flagstaff. Sit back and relax in an air-conditioned van and equipment truck and let our experienced drivers take the wheel. We provide a cooler with water and soft drinks for passengers. This shuttle is folded into our Deluxe Outfitting Package. Alternatively, you can purchase shuttle services separately.
See information below about Diamond Creek take-outs.

Vehicle Only Shuttles
Canyon REO is the only Grand Canyon Colorado River outfitter to offer the option of shuttling your personal vehicles from Lee’s Ferry, storing them in Flagstaff, and then transporting them to your takeout location.
This may be the best choice for you if you are providing most (or all) of your river equipment. Your group drives your vehicles to Lees Ferry and leaves them in the long-term lot. After your launch, we drive your vehicles to storage in Flagstaff. On your take-out day, we drive your vehicles to the take-out location. See information below about Diamond Creek take-outs.
Canyon REO uses a storage lot northeast of Flagstaff off of Highway 89A. Some hotels in Flagstaff will allow you to park your vehicle in their lot if you book rooms with them.

Half & Half Shuttles
A Half-and-Half Shuttle is a Group Shuttle with our van and equipment truck either to the put-in or from the take-out, and the other half involves your personal vehicles being shuttled on the other half—either from the put-in to Flagstaff, or from Flagstaff to your take-out.
This is a good option if you are bringing your own gear to Lees Ferry and are planning on traveling back through Flagstaff after take-out. In this case, after your group launches, Canyon REO shuttles your personal vehicles back to Flagstaff for storage. At your take-out location (either Diamond Creek or Pearce Ferry), our van and equipment truck will shuttle your gear and group back to Flagstaff to your personal vehicles. This saves wear and tear on your vehicles caused by Diamond Creek Road.
This shuttle can be done in reverse, with a group shuttle from Flagstaff to Lees Ferry and delivery of your vehicles from Flagstaff to your take-out. This is especially useful if you are not driving through Flagstaff after your trip. See information below about Diamond Creek takeouts.
Please call us to get a quote for the Half & Half Shuttle after reviewing the group shuttle and vehicle shuttle information and pricing.
Diamond Creek Take-outs
While we can deliver your vehicles to Diamond Creek, many people prefer not to have their vehicles driven to the Diamond Creek take-out, since Diamond Creek Road is 22 miles of rough road—even in its best condition.
Four-wheel drive and/or high clearance vehicles are highly recommended year-round on Diamond Creek Road. Only professionally manufactured (heavy-duty) trailers should attempt Diamond Creek Road. Light duty trailers are not recommended due to the continuous bouncing and jostling, especially when empty.
During Arizona’s ‘monsoon’ season of July, August, and September, thunderstorms and torrential downpours can cause flash floods and washouts on Diamond Creek Road, trapping boats and crews. If the road washes out higher up (from Peach Springs Creek flooding) the road may be closed for 24 hours or longer. If the road washes out in the last mile, the damage will probably be repaired within hours of the washout. Although the Hualapai Tribe will customarily repair the route to the take-out in 24 hours, until the road dries out completely, soft mud, standing water and rocks make for slow driving on this already-rough road. Especially during the monsoon season, it is important to make contingency shuttle arrangements, which may include floating overnight for a take-out at Pearce Ferry the next day.
Snow can also cause the closure of Diamond Creek Road due to the condition of the road and/or ice and snow. Four-wheel drive with chains may be the only way in and out.
If Diamond Creek Road washes out, you may incur extra expenses from us, including but not limited to: fees for wear and tear on our vehicles or additional expenses for a Pearce Ferry take-out the following day. If your trip is scheduled during the monsoon or winter seasons, please call us to discuss contingency arrangements.
