Food Department Assistant

Job: Food Department Assistant, menu planning, food shopping, prep and packing
Schedule: 40 hours a week
Pay: $19.00 – $22.00 an hour starting wage

The Food Department Assistant is a 30 hour a week position that is responsible for carrying out the hands-on tasks of executing Grand Canyon food packs. This includes packing, shopping, stocking, and prepping food for river trips as well as assisting the Food Department Manager with menus packing lists.
River Warehouse Staff
Job Location: Flagstaff, AZ
Job: Equipment maintenance, vehicle maintenance, organization, loading, unloading, welding, painting, cleaning
Education: High school Diploma or GED, river experience
Schedule: Full time and part time positions available
Pay: $17.40 – $20.00 an hour

Warehouse Staff work with the equipment and vehicles at Canyon REO. They prepare and load equipment before a trip and unload, clean, and maintain the equipment after a trip. They also prepare vehicles for shuttles. People who enjoy physical, outdoor work with a team of people should apply for this position. Applicants who do not currently possess skills in welding, vehicle maintenance, and trailer driving will have the opportunity to train in these areas.
River Trip Rigger
Primary Location: Flagstaff, Arizona
Work Location: Flagstaff, Lee’s Ferry, Diamond Creek, and Pearce Ferry
Job: Transportation, manual labor, education, customer service
Schedule: Flexible, as needed
Pay: $18 – $20 an hour

Riggers serve a critical transportation, customer service, and educational function. Their job is to guide clients through the put-in and take-out process. They will ensure equipment and people are transported safely, that clients understand how to set up and use Canyon REO equipment, and that trips launch and take-out smoothly. This requires an in-depth understanding of river equipment, interpersonal skills, and the ability to coach private boaters of various experience levels.
Camp Guide
Primary Location: Flagstaff, Arizona
Work Location: Arizona, California, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah
Job: Camp Hosting and Wilderness Guiding
Schedule: Duration of scheduled trip including prep and cleanup days.
Pay: $18 – $20 hourly for pre and post trip work;
$150 – $225 daily rate for overnight workshops

Camp Guides travel to workshop locations ahead of the workshop and establish a base camp. Once the clients and photo professionals arrive, Camp Guides introduce them to the camp and educate them on best practices while camping in remote areas. They then tend to the camp, prepare food, and otherwise see to the workshop participants needs for the duration of the workshop. Once workshop participants have left, Camp Guides brake down camp and return to Flagstaff.
